I just recently discovered that Tony Nester a survival instructor and owner/operater of Ancient Pathways here in Az. has a new set of videos on Youtube dealing with desert survival. I personally know Tony and have taken classes from him on several occasions and know all of his instruction is top notch. Hope you guys enjoy the info.

I called Tony about a month ago but apparently his wife never told him or he got busy finishing up his classes for the year as I never heard back from him. I'm fairly certain he'll do more and will ask next time I talk to him. He's always at WinterCount in Feb. so you'll have to make a point to go so you can talk to him personally. I'll be there and I must insist that you all attend too!!! Laughing It'd be nice if a bunch of us here on the forum could all attend together so start making plans guys!!!

Nice!! Will they let you film there? It would be cool to get a nice video of that.

I know in the past local news crews have visited and I'm fairly certain I saw video cams set up when I was there in 2008. If in doubt you could always contact Dave Wescott at Backtracks. Here's the link for that with all the info on WinterCount and RabbitStick.

Just did a search on Youtube. Theres not much on WinterCount but lots of vids from Rabbitstick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4sXtsgX_y4

Wintercount is pretty much the same as Rabbitstick except for location. Rabbitstick has more attendance but Wintercount is growing to catch up soon. There are 300+ at Wintercount now and alot of the same teachers and students attend both.

Wintercount is held in Maricopa Az. and Rabbitstick is in Rexburg Id. Takes me about 45 min to get to Wintercount from Peoria mostly due to city traffic.

Here's a link to Tonys new series of vids on Outside Magazines video section. He answers readers questions on survival in the "Survival Guru" section too, so check that out as well.

The eating paddle thing is a cool idea I had forgotten about. I remember Tony talking about that a few years back when I first took a class from him. The guy in the handrill video, Billy Meyers is also a friend of mine whom I met at that first class. He was one of Tonys assistants for NAU and I see him each year at Wintercount and occasionally at some other skills class. He lives in New Mexico so I should shoot him an email to join our forums here.
