This I have used many times in the bush. I have read in several places about preparation for use as soap. The way I do it depends on what I am washing. For hands and hair only I will just pulverize a few leaves (blades) and work them around it the water till they lather and wash up. If i take an entire bath I will prepare the root of the plant. I cut the root into small pieces, crush and boil them for just a few minutes. Allow them to cool and use the water to wash off with. This works like a charm.

I realized a valid point earlier today when trying to describe native Az flora to my buddy on the phone, if you don't live in Az you probably don't know what the plant is or looks like, so here is a yucca pic that I found.

funny thing is I have a lot of plant photos that I took but haven't posted them for some reason.

I know, I never realized, sad thing is tis gy lives in our state, just doesn't go to the desert!! Sad, sad, sad . . . !!
